## Title: Distribution Officer
Job Summary
The Distribution Officer is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the efficient movement of finished goods from the manufacturing facility to various distribution points. This role ensures timely delivery, inventory accuracy, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with production, warehouse, and sales teams to align distribution schedules with demand
- Coordinate daily distribution operations including order dispatch, transportation, and delivery tracking
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate documentation of stock movement
- Select and manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers and transport vendors
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during loading, unloading, and transit
- Resolve delivery issues, delays, or discrepancies with internal teams and external partners
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery confirmations, and transportation costs
- Analyze distribution data to identify areas for cost reduction and service improvement
- Support audits and reporting requirements related to logistics and inventory
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in logistics or distribution, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
