DevOps Engineer at Afripoint Group Limited

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated DevOps Engineer to build functional systems that improve the product deployment experience. You will be responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet our products team's needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and familiarity with Ruby, Node.js, or Python, working closely with developers and engineers to ensure software development follows established processes and functions as intended.

Key Objectives

• Build and implement new development tools and infrastructure
• Understand stakeholder needs and communicate them effectively to developers
• Automate and improve development and release processes
• Test and examine code written by others, and analyze results
• Ensure systems are secure and protected against cybersecurity threats
• Identify technical problems and develop software updates and fixes
• Work with software developers and engineers to ensure development follows established processes
• Participate in project planning and management decisions

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy updates and fixes, and provide technical support
• Build tools to reduce error occurrence and improve product release experience
• Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
• Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues
• Develop scripts to automate visualization
• Select and deploy appropriate CI/CD tools
• Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipelines (CI/CD)
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
