Cylinder Tester at Industrial and Medical Gases Nigeria Plc

Position Summary

To ensure the safety, integrity, and compliance of gas cylinders through thorough inspection, testing, and certification in accordance with industry standards and statutory regulations. The Cylinder Tester ensures that only safe and approved cylinders are filled, stored, and distributed to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrostatic and visual inspection of cylinders in line with industry standards
• Identify, segregate, and record defective cylinders for repair, scrapping, or requalification
• Maintain accurate testing records and certification documentation for all tested cylinders
• Operate and maintain cylinder testing equipment, ensuring calibration and reliability
• Adhere strictly to safety, health, and environmental procedures during testing operations
• Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient cylinder yard and testing area
• Ensure proper marking, stamping, and tagging of tested cylinders for traceability
• Report any incidents, near-misses, or equipment malfunction immediately to the supervisor
• Support periodic audits, inspections, and compliance reviews by regulatory authorities

Qualifications and Experience

• OND or Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering (or related field)
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in cylinder testing, inspection, or plant operations (preferably in gas manufacturing or distribution)
