Credit Risk Officer at Transkredit Finance Company

About the Position

Transkredit Finance Company is seeking a qualified Credit Risk Officer to establish and manage a comprehensive Credit Risk Management Department. This role is critical to ensuring sound credit practices, portfolio quality, and regulatory compliance across our lending operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up an end-to-end Credit Risk Management Department
• Develop and obtain approvals for all credit-related policies, product papers, approval limits, and requirements for proper functioning of the credit risk management unit
• Review loan applications and provide feedback on missing or unclear documents to ensure all required supportive documentation for credit analysis is submitted
• Conduct credit evaluation and analysis for retail and MSME clients and make appropriate recommendations in line with credit policy
• Ensure proposed facilities are structured appropriately based on transaction dynamics, repayment structure, and customer cash flow
• Ensure compliance with target market, risk acceptance criteria, and overall credit policy
• Conduct risk rating and credit scoring for all loan requests
• Perform financial and non-financial business analysis on proposed requests and interpret financial ratios and performance indicators
• Perform credit status enquiries and act as interface with credit bureaus regarding data submission (CRMS, CR, CRC, etc.)
• Review credit portfolio for sustained quality, performance, and compliance with approved terms and conditions
• Recommend credit for final approval and follow up with relevant decision-making authorities to ensure timely processing and communication to market-facing units
• Ensure all pre-disbursement conditions are met
• Monitor limits, track maturing repayments, and ensure collection of all receivables on accounts
• Conduct credit stress testing and advise management on strategies to manage portfolio risk
• Identify credit-related early warning signals and flag potential problems before they crystallize

Required Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and interpretation of CBN policies related to loan management
