About the Role
A reputable organization seeks a dedicated Construction Engineer to join its offshore operations team. You will report to the BN Principal Construction Engineer and be responsible for delivering the Bonga North Topsides scope and tie-in activities. Your primary focus will be ensuring safe and flawless execution beyond best-in-class HSSE and CAPEX performance, achieving zero leaks during start-up, and ensuring safe and reliable operations post-commissioning.
Project Overview
The Bonga North Project represents a significant development initiative involving new reservoir development through a 16-well configuration (8 producers + 8 injectors) tied back to the existing Bonga Main FPSO with a 15-year life extension. The project targets approximately 352 MMboe recovery with comprehensive subsea infrastructure and topside revamp scope.
Project Scope: Subsea (SURF)
The subsea scope includes:
- 8 subsea production trees and 8 water injection trees
- 2 x 4-slot production manifolds, 4 x 1-slot production inline tees
- 1 x 6-slot water injection manifold, 1 x 2-slot water injection manifold, 1 x 1-slot water injection inline tee
- 8 production jumpers and 8 water injection jumpers
- 10" subsea production flowlines and steel catenary risers (SCRs) across two flow loops (approximately 26 km)
- 14" water injection flowline and SCR (approximately 12 km)
- Approximately 32 km of static and dynamic umbilical systems
- Approximately 4 km of composite gas-lift umbilical
Project Scope: Topsides
Bonga Main FPSO modifications include engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation of equipment upgrades with a total additional dry weight of approximately 1,500 metric tonnes (MT). Upgrades involve:
- Installation of one new water injection turbine-driven pump
- Upgrade of one existing Bonga Main pump
- Addition of four new electric motor-driven methanol injection pumps
- Addition of two corrosion inhibitor pumps
- Multiple tie-ins to existing systems
Project Timeline
- Final Investment Decision (FID): 2024
- Final Commissioning (FOD): 2027/2028

The Construction Engineer is accountable for delivering the assigned scope in line with project objectives and organizational standards.
