They achieve this by raising awareness, providing education, and advocating for Africans affected by Parkinson's disease. Through their communications and community engagement initiatives, they centre the voices and lived experiences of individuals and communities affected by Parkinson's, especially where stigma and lack of access to care persist.

Position Overview

We are seeking a creative Communications and Community Engagement Officer to lead storytelling, content creation, and community-building initiatives that raise awareness and deepen connections with stakeholders across Africa. The ideal candidate will blend hands-on content creation with the ability to shape the organisation's overall communication and engagement strategy. This role will be central in crafting compelling narratives, designing engaging digital content, managing communications channels, and building meaningful relationships with people living with Parkinson's, caregivers, and partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Co-design the communication strategy for the organisation
• Develop and implement communication strategies across digital platforms including website, social media, digital impact reports, and email
• Oversee brand management by ensuring consistent application of brand guidelines, safeguarding brand identity, and guiding appropriate use of brand assets
• Document and share impactful stories from people living with Parkinson's and caregivers
• Design visually engaging graphics, social media posts, newsletters, and campaign materials
• Create programme and campaign-specific content tailored to specific audiences, platforms, and objectives
• Write clear and compelling copy for the website, newsletters, reports, and other communications materials
