Job Summary
The Civil/Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and supervising the construction of structural components of buildings and infrastructure. The role involves ensuring structural integrity, safety, stability, and compliance with applicable codes and standards. This position offers a great opportunity for career growth. Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze structural elements including beams, slabs, columns, foundations, retaining walls, and related components
- Prepare structural drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports
- Perform load, stress, and stability assessments using relevant engineering codes
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical/electrical engineers, and project teams to achieve functional and aesthetic design objectives
- Review and approve construction materials to ensure compliance with design standards
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure designs are implemented accurately
- Identify structural issues, recommend modifications, and provide timely solutions
- Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and support procurement processes where necessary
- Ensure compliance with local building regulations, safety standards, and project timelines
- Participate in project planning, quality control, risk assessment, and progress reporting
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders professionally and efficiently
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field (Master's an added advantage)
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in structural design or construction engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar structural design software
- Strong understanding of engineering codes and standards (e.g., Eurocode, ACI, BS Standards)
- Knowledge of construction practices and project delivery methodologies
