Cinematography Trainee at Octoplus Marketing

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and creative Cinematography Trainee to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals with a keen interest in filmmaking, videography, and storytelling who are looking to develop hands-on experience in a professional setting. You will work closely with the creative team to capture, edit, and produce high-quality video content while learning the fundamentals of cinematography and video production.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in writing or adapting scripts for video projects
• Create visually compelling video content for clients and internal projects
• Capture studio-quality photographs and videos both in-house and on-location
• Collaborate with the creative team to develop visual style and storytelling approach
• Organize and assemble video segments to ensure smooth storytelling
• Learn and manage technical aspects of video recording and editing
• Perform basic video and audio editing to maintain logical sequencing and continuity
• Support event coverage and documentation as needed
• Work within creative briefs, developing and pitching ideas to meet client needs
• Assist in developing overall video branding strategy for various projects
• Gain hands-on experience with professional video equipment and editing software

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Creative Arts, Cinematography, Film Production, or a related field from a recognised institution
• Basic knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Filmora, or DaVinci Resolve
• Strong passion for storytelling and visual creativity
• 0–1 years of experience in videography, filmmaking, or content creation (internship experience is a plus)
• Portfolio showcasing video editing or cinematography projects (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail, composition, and visual storytelling
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
