## Title: Sous Chef
Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Atelier Boutique Hotel as a Sous Chef. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth kitchen operations and supporting the Head Chef in creating exceptional dishes for our guests. From ordering ingredients to maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring cleanliness standards, you will be instrumental in delivering quality service.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus
- Produce high-quality plates that meet both design and taste standards
- Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently while meeting quality standards
- Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
- Resourcefully solve kitchen issues and manage problematic situations
- Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedules, and assess staff performance
- Order supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with colleagues and guests
Education & Training
- BSc degree in culinary science or related certificate (preferred)
Experience Required
- 5–7 years of experience in a similar position within a 3- or 4-star hotel or serviced apartments
Skills & Abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Excellent kitchen and staff management record
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
- Knowledge of industry best practices
- Working knowledge of computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS systems)
- Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets
- Guest-oriented and service-minded approach
- Strong interpersonal skills
