## Title: Buyer/Procurement Officer
About the Role
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Buyer to select and purchase quality products for our organization. You will be responsible for processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, managing inventory, ensuring quality assurance, and liaising with inventory teams and management. You will work across departments to forecast business needs and make purchase decisions based on demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, select, and purchase quality products and materials
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate for the best pricing
- Process requisitions and update management on order status
- Update inventory records and maintain appropriate stock levels
- Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery
- Analyze market trends and apply insights to make informed buying decisions
- Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required
- Assess quality of received stock and escalate discrepancies to suppliers and management
- Travel as needed for business purposes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- Relevant procurement or purchasing experience
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in procurement-related software
- Critical thinking and strong negotiation skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to undertake occasional domestic and/or international travel
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of sales and marketing principles
- Analytical mindset
