## Title: Business Development Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Officer to join our expanding team. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and managing new business opportunities across the Northern region. This role demands a self-motivated professional who can work independently in a hybrid structure, build strong client relationships, and translate market intelligence into actionable growth strategies.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, negotiation, and field relationship management skills, with a deep understanding of the logistics, transport, or supply chain landscape in Northern Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business leads within the logistics, manufacturing, and FMCG sectors
  • Actively pursue partnerships and client acquisition in assigned states and zones
  • Conduct regular field visits to clients, transport hubs, and potential business partners
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and provide weekly progress reports
  • Develop proposals, quotations, and presentations tailored to client needs
  • Coordinate with operations and HR teams to ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations
  • Gather market intelligence on competition, pricing, and emerging opportunities
  • Represent the company at trade shows, logistics events, and client meetings within the region
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards during all business engagements
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue and client acquisition targets

  • Number of new clients onboarded
  • Monthly and quarterly revenue generated
  • Client retention and satisfaction rate
  • Timeliness and accuracy of business reports
  • Quality of proposals and conversion rate
  • Market coverage across Northern states

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum HND or B.Sc degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience
