We are looking for a qualified candidate to fill this position. Key Requirements - Client consultation: Meet with clients to discuss desired hairstyles, hair condition, and any concerns. - Hair preparation: Wash, condition, and detangle hair to prepare it for the braiding process. - Hair sectioning: Divide the hair into neat, uniform sections for consistent braiding. - Braiding: Skillfully execute various braiding styles like cornrows, box braids, and twists. - Adding extensions: Incorporate hair extensions and decorative elements like beads as requested. - Product application: Use oils, mousses, or sprays to enhance the hair's health and the final look of the braids. - Hygiene and sanitation: Keep the workstation and all tools clean and sanitized before and after each client. - Aftercare education: Advise clients on how to maintain their braids, including washing, moisturizing, and nightly protection. - Stay updated: Keep up with the latest braiding trends and techniques through continued learning. Education & Experience: - Minimum of SSCE / equivalent qualification. - Professional training or certification in hair braiding or hairstyling (preferred but not mandatory). - 2+ years of salon experience as a braider or stylist. - Proven portfolio of completed braiding styles (photos or client references). Technical Skills: - Proficiency in all major braid types (knotless, box, cornrows, twists, feed-in, bohemian, etc.). - Knowledge of hair preparation, shampooing, blow-drying, and scalp care. - Ability to work with natural hair and extensions. - Strong knowledge of hair products (gels, oils, conditioners, etc.) suitable for different hair textures. - Neatness, precision, and attention to detail. Personal Qualities: - Excellent customer service and communication skills. - Good time management and ability to work under pressure. - Professional, polite, and team-oriented attitude. - Clean and hygienic work habits. - Passionate about beauty, creativity, and continuous learning Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand for long periods. - Good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity. Preferred Extras (Optional): - Experience in wig braiding or customized braid wigs. - Ability to style for photo shoots or events. - Basic social media skills (for promoting work).
