Belt Jointer at African Industries Group (AIG)

Position Overview

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Belt Jointer. You will be responsible for joining, repairing, and maintaining conveyor belts used in production and material handling systems.

Location

Gujeni Village, Kaduna, Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hot and cold vulcanizing of conveyor belts
• Cut, shape, and splice belts according to specifications
• Inspect belts for wear, damage, or misalignment
• Install belt fasteners, clips, and laggings where necessary
• Ensure conveyors run smoothly after maintenance or joining
• Maintain records of belt repairs and replacements
• Follow safety protocols during belt joining operations

Requirements

• Technical Certificate or Trade Test in Mechanical or related fields
• 3–5 years of practical experience in conveyor belt jointing, vulcanizing, and repair within an industrial or mining environment
• Good knowledge of belt alignment, splicing methods (hot and cold), and safety procedures during maintenance
