Backend Developer at LifeBank

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to design, implement, and maintain server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power our web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of our systems while collaborating closely with frontend and mobile teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend systems, APIs, and services
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Design and manage relational and non-relational databases
• Ensure the security, scalability, and performance of applications
• Implement automated testing and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
• Stay updated with emerging backend technologies and best practices
• Document backend processes, APIs, and workflows

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of professional experience in backend development
• Proficiency in backend languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, Ruby, or Go
• Experience with database technologies: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and API integration
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and serverless architectures
• Understanding of security best practices and authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with microservices and event-driven architecture
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodology
• Experience in fintech, healthtech, or other impact-driven sectors
