## Title: Associate Producer – Abuja
About the Role
This position offers a great opportunity for career growth in live television production. You will work as part of a dynamic team, reporting to the Executive Producer while supporting all aspects of daily show operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Executive Producer for daily job tasks
- Write scripts for the show
- Prepare and organize the show rundown
- Write and post daily content on social media outlets
- Prepare guests for live segments
- Work remotely while remaining available to come to the station at short notice
- Collaborate with clients to improve the quality of their segments
- Time the show to ensure each guest has adequate time to deliver their message
- Assist with line producing
- Support on-location shoots
- Assist with editing as needed
- Book visually engaging segments for the show
- Contribute new ideas to enhance the show
- Work with show producers to write voice-overs, manage live shots, handle guest segments, and write compelling teases
- Create production elements for scripts, including tape and graphics
- Identify news stories, select video and sound bites, oversee editing, conduct interviews, and write stories for television and the internet
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience producing live television
- Proficiency in stacking rundowns for broadcast
- Strong creative writing skills with ability to write informative, conversational, and engaging television scripts
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively under constant deadlines
- Calm composure when handling live TV situations and changing events
- Strong multitasking abilities under pressure
- Demonstrated social media proficiency with an active, strong presence on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
Required Attributes
- Energetic and friendly personality
- Available to work weekdays from 6:30 AM–3:30 PM, with flexibility for later hours when needed
- Available for station weekend events
