## Title: Accounting Officer
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial documents, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the finance department in ensuring the integrity of our financial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Process invoices, receipts, and other financial documents
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and budgets
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records, including journal entries, ledgers, and accounts receivable/payable
- Reconcile financial transactions, accounts, and discrepancies to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, adjustments, and accruals
- Analyze and reconcile procurement-related financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Prepare and maintain detailed financial reports, budgets, and forecasts related to procurement activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize procurement strategies
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely payments
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making in the procurement department
- Support auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory agencies during audits and examinations
- Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting
Required Qualifications
- Minimum HND or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- At least 3 years of proven experience in accounting, finance, or a related role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, procedures, and regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle
