Position Overview

Goodnews Consulting, an information technology company, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. This is a hybrid role requiring twice-weekly onsite attendance. We are looking for a qualified candidate with previous hands-on experience in Finance and Accounting, preferably from a startup tech environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to spot numerical errors and analyze financial records to provide key stakeholders with accurate quantitative and qualitative information on the company's financial position, liquidity, and cash flows while ensuring compliance with all financial regulatory bodies.

Salary Range

₦350,000 - ₦450,000

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Analyze financial data and prepare variance analysis reports
• Prepare budget forecasts and project budgets, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual closing financial reports
• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Ensure timely bank and payable payments
• Compute taxes, remit payments, and document tax filings and corporate income tax returns
• Process invoices, matching them with purchase orders and receiving documents
• Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on overdue payments
• Analyze and report on the company's financial health and liquidity
• Audit, report, and document all financial transactions and company documents
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and required information
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive company financial information with discretion
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements and Skills

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
