About the Role
As part of its control and reporting framework, the bank seeks to strengthen its finance leadership with a seasoned Accountant who will oversee accurate financial reporting and compliance.
The Accountant will take full responsibility for the bank's accounting and financial reporting function, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting to management and regulators. This is not a support position and requires a confident professional capable of managing the bank's books independently and reporting directly to the MD.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Maintain accurate general ledger and accounting records
- Oversee statutory remittances (PAYE, VAT, WHT, pensions)
- Ensure compliance with CBN and other regulatory reporting requirements
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage audit processes (internal and external)
- Enforce financial controls and accounting policies
- Provide financial insights and reports to the MD
Requirements
- BSc or HND in Accounting or Finance
- 3–6 years of accounting experience within a microfinance bank, asset finance, or financial institution
- Strong experience in financial reporting and statutory compliance
- Proficiency in Sage Accounting Software (mandatory)
- Knowledge of BankOne core banking system (added advantage)
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
Certifications
- ICAN (ACA) — Professional level, newly chartered or post-qualified
- ACCA (added advantage)
Compensation
N250,000 – N350,000 monthly
