Job Overview

An established company is recruiting for an Account Officer position.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports, budgets, cost reports and financial forecasts on a regular basis
• Prepare tax computations and file returns
• Assist the finance manager with annual accounts and supporting schedules
• Ensure that every expense is properly documented
• Compile the books of accounts at the end of each month and financial year
• Perform account reconciliations and analyses
• Ensure fiscal responsibility within the firm's operations
• Manage budgetary control
• Coordinate with senior management regarding financial decisions
• Handle internal and external audits
• Participate in strategic planning and execution processes
• Supervise factory accounting and financial controls
• Provide inputs to management on key efficiency areas and financing strategies
• Oversee banking relationships
• Manage factory payroll computation, analysis and reporting
• Conduct factory operating cost analysis, capital expenditure analysis and project accounting

Required Skills

• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles
• Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
• Knowledge of applicable tax, pension laws, codes and regulations
• Proficiency with relevant computer applications
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills
• Sound judgment and financial problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work effectively under pressure

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
• Professional qualification such as ACCA or ICAN (preferred)
• Minimum 4 years' experience in financial systems management, budgets, and financial reporting
