Well Engineering & Drilling Specialist at International Energy Services Limited (IESL)

About the Role

International Energy Services Limited (IESL) seeks a dedicated Well Engineering & Drilling Specialist to provide operational expertise and managerial leadership for drilling operations. This position is responsible for planning and executing development, appraisal, and exploratory drilling activities, as well as all well work operations (onshore, swamp, or offshore). The specialist ensures effective delivery of drilling services and works closely with clients to secure all necessary engineering support, materials, logistics, and operational resources to achieve safe, efficient, and cost-effective well operations.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure all required planning for successful well drilling and completion is in place
• Supervise drilling engineers in directing day-to-day operations of client drilling rigs
• Establish operations priorities and schedule activities to ensure personnel, equipment, supplies, and services are available when needed
• Assist clients in developing drilling performance goals and share responsibility in meeting these objectives
• Establish, manage, and maintain the team's forward operating base
• Continuously monitor drilling execution and develop operational improvements
• Review and coordinate drilling programs, operating procedures, and evaluation programs
• Prepare and review the performance of drilling engineers
• Regularly visit drilling rigs to ensure drilling programs and operating procedures are implemented safely and effectively

Well Planning Expertise

• Trajectory modeling (vertical, directional, horizontal)
• Casing and tubing design
• Drill string configuration
• Risk and contingency planning

Well Testing & Evaluation Expertise

• Surface and downhole testing
• Multiphase flow rate measurement
• Pressure and temperature profiling
• Fluid sampling and analysis
• Formation testing and pressure transient analysis
• Reservoir fluid characterization
