## Title: WASH Technical Officer

About the Role

A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent to join as a WASH Technical Officer. This position plays a critical role in implementing water, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives within communities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute Hygiene Promotion activities with project assistants and volunteers to reduce WASH-related risks within the community
  • Supervise project assistants in collecting, recording, and reporting data on hygiene promotion activities to line management
  • Conduct training and refresher sessions for project assistants and hygiene promoters on hygiene and sanitation best practices
  • Participate in WASH coordination meetings and related field meetings
  • Provide technical support and on-the-job coaching to project assistants and hygiene promoters
  • Liaise with the MEAL team to conduct needs assessments, baseline surveys, and other evaluations
  • Serve as liaison between community leaders and the organization, identifying key hygiene challenges to be addressed
  • Mobilize and sensitize project participants and community stakeholders for communal activities
  • Ensure timely completion of project activities according to weekly and monthly work plans
  • Support distribution of Hygiene and MHM Kits and educate beneficiaries on proper use of items
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for submission to line management
  • Develop work plans for project assistants and hygiene promoters
  • Develop WASH proposals, create bills of quantity, and monitor construction and rehabilitation activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in civil engineering or a related field (minimum requirement)
  • Minimum of four years of working experience in community-based projects with focus on WASH and Nutrition
