About the Role

A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent to join as a Waiter/Waitress at our hospitality establishment in Lagos, Nigeria.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests with eye contact and warm hospitality, engaging in pleasant interactions and providing thanks for each transaction
• Take food and drink orders while engaging with customers to enhance their dining experience
• Make recommendations by providing information about menu items, specials, and beverage options using effective upselling techniques
• Deliver orders to the kitchen and ensure accurate and timely preparation
• Serve food and drinks to customers in a professional and courteous manner
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally and respectfully
• Periodically check on guests to ensure satisfaction with their meal
• Present bills and process customer payments accurately
• Handle cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment securely
• Set tables with appropriate utensils, glassware, and napkins
• Clear tables efficiently after guests leave and reset them for the next customers
• Manage customer accounts and tabs
• Organize and maintain a tidy work environment
• Collaborate with other staff members, including servers, kitchen staff, and management, to ensure efficient operations
• Communicate any issues or special requests from customers to relevant team members
• Manage a fast-paced environment by multitasking and adapting to changing customer needs
• Keep the dining area clean and well-maintained throughout the shift
• Assist in general cleaning tasks, such as sweeping and mopping
• Follow hygiene and safety standards in food handling and service
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
