Vulcanizer & Wheel Balancing Technician

Job Objective

Responsible for ensuring that pool vehicles, loaders, and heavy equipment tyre maintenance are conducted safely through routine checks, timely repairs, and preventive maintenance to optimize equipment availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and execute vulcanizing tasks according to supervisor instructions
• Provide regular feedback on task status to the supervisor
• Make requisitions and take delivery of materials and spare parts for vulcanizing activities
• Implement measures to prevent damage to vulcanizing materials
• Conduct daily, periodical, preventive, and breakdown maintenance on vehicle and equipment tyres in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safe operating procedures
• Perform visual inspections of vehicles and equipment
• Seal punctures in tubeless tires
• Execute wheel balancing and alignment services
• Maintain daily check sheets and tyre consumption reports according to supervisor requirements
• Ensure proper housekeeping during and after job completion
• Handle and maintain tools properly and ensure correct usage
• Suggest and implement latest maintenance practices regarding tyre care

Requirements

• SSCE, GCE, NECO, or NABTEC qualification
• Minimum 5 years work experience in tyre maintenance or related field
• Trade Test 1, 2, and 3 in vulcanizing and heavy-duty equipment maintenance
• Knowledge of repair and maintenance of light motor vehicles (LMV) and heavy equipment (HEMM) tyres
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment and materials
• Valid driver's license
• Knowledge of forklift operation and tyre handling devices

• Salary: ₦130,000 per month
