About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join News Central TV as a Video Editor. You will be responsible for transforming raw footage into compelling visual narratives that engage audiences across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Storytelling and Editing

• Review and analyse raw footage to identify the best clips that align with the desired narrative
• Assemble and sequence clips to create a coherent and impactful story or message
• Make cuts and trims, removing unnecessary footage and enhancing overall video flow
• Add transitions and effects to ensure smooth scene transitions and enhance visual appeal

Technical Skills and Software

• Demonstrate proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer
• Work with mobile editing software including InShot
• Conduct colour correction and grading to establish specific moods or atmospheres
• Perform sound editing and mixing, integrating music, sound effects, and dialogue to enhance storytelling
• Understand different video formats and codecs to ensure compatibility with intended platforms

Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with directors, producers, and other creatives to understand the vision for each video project
• Provide feedback and suggestions during filming or pre-production to optimise footage for editing
• Clearly communicate edits and revisions, addressing concerns from stakeholders to ensure alignment

Adaptability and Versatility

• Edit various video formats and lengths, including short social media clips and long-form documentaries
• Adapt editing style to suit different genres and styles, aligning with the specific tone and message of each project
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to incorporate new tools and techniques

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Video Editor with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects
• Proficiency in video editing software, colour correction, and sound editing/mixing
• Understanding of different video formats, codecs, and delivery methods
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Creative approach to storytelling and visual content
