About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join New Ideal Model Schools, Jalingo as Vice Principal (Academics). In this role, you will oversee all academic affairs of the institution, including curriculum development, teaching quality, staff performance, and student achievement.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise teachers and department heads to ensure effective curriculum delivery and performance standards
• Conduct performance reviews, monitor lesson plans, and provide professional development opportunities
• Work with the timetable committee to create and manage the school's academic schedule and calendar
• Oversee academic budgets and resource allocation
• Manage the creation, administration, and scoring of periodic tests and final exams
• Monitor student progress and implement interventions for students requiring additional support
• Assist the principal with administrative tasks including student placement and academic record management
• Lead meetings with academic staff and coordinate departmental activities
• Ensure compliance with school and government academic regulations
• Report on academic performance, trends, and areas for improvement to the principal
• Oversee curriculum development to ensure it remains relevant and meets school and national standards
• Monitor teaching methods and provide guidance to improve instructional effectiveness

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree
• 5 to 15 years of relevant experience in academics or educational leadership
