Truck Driver Trainer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Truck Driver Trainer to support our driver recruitment and development process. This role focuses on conducting driving tests for shortlisted candidates, training and retraining drivers, and ensuring all drivers meet company safety and performance standards. Retired professional drivers are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct practical driving tests and road assessments for driver candidates who have passed the interview stage
• Evaluate driver competence, road discipline, vehicle handling, and safety awareness
• Provide structured training, retraining, and refresher programs for new and existing drivers
• Coach drivers on defensive driving, company driving policies, and best practices
• Identify high-risk driving behaviors and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare assessment reports and training recommendations for HR and Fleet Management
• Support investigations relating to driving incidents and provide expert input when required

Requirements

• Minimum of 20 years of experience as a professional truck driver, driver trainer, or fleet driving supervisor
• Deep knowledge of Nigerian road regulations, safety standards, and truck operations
• Valid driver's license (or evidence of previously held license)
• Strong communication, coaching, and assessment skills
• High level of discipline, patience, and integrity
