## Title: Transport Manager

Job Summary

Supervise and coordinate truck drivers in the transportation of the company fleet while ensuring customer products reach their various destinations on schedule. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all trucks in the company and oversee all fleet maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate truck drivers in the transportation of company fleet
  • Ensure customer products are delivered to their various destinations
  • Maintain documentation of all trucks in the company
  • Ensure availability and proper use of tools and equipment in the maintenance workshop
  • Establish Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all maintenance and repair work
  • Prioritize and assign scheduled work to subordinates to meet company deadlines and customer needs
  • Coordinate, schedule, and audit transport fleet and equipment maintenance and repairs, including preventive, mechanical, and electrical repair work for tractors, trucks, and trailers
  • Ensure quality standards of all maintenance and repair work on fleet and equipment
  • Maintain proper updating of fleet maintenance job cards
  • Track all trucks on the road in real-time
  • Ensure faulty trucks are repaired within the shortest possible time to prevent operational breakdown
  • Reduce fleet downtime by providing prompt rescue and support to distressed trucks on the highway
  • Negotiate maintenance and repair service offers to ensure cost efficiency
  • Coach fleet drivers on fault identification and proper reporting procedures
  • Monitor and analyze fleet maintenance and repair costs, fuel consumption, and recommend improvements on fleet utilization and replacement strategies
  • Track fleet usage and maintain accurate inventory of replaced parts and equipment
  • Ensure safe work environment and good housekeeping standards to comply with statutory regulations
  • Communicate fleet maintenance requirements and implement approved corrective actions
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews of maintenance staff and identify training needs
  • Participate in recruitment and selection of maintenance personnel
