## Title: Trainee Procurement Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Procurement Engineer to support our procurement team in sourcing, evaluating, and managing suppliers for engineering projects. This entry-level role provides hands-on training and exposure to procurement processes, vendor management, and engineering project support.

The trainee will work closely with senior procurement and engineering staff to ensure cost-effective, timely, and quality procurement of materials, equipment, and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of requests for quotations (RFQs) and purchase orders
  • Support vendor selection, evaluation, and negotiations under supervision
  • Work with engineering teams to understand material specifications and project requirements
  • Track purchase requisitions, orders, and delivery schedules to ensure timely procurement
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and supplier records
  • Participate in cost analysis and market research for materials and suppliers
  • Assist in monitoring supplier performance and resolving supply-related issues
  • Ensure compliance with organizational procurement policies and standards
  • Support reporting and data analysis of procurement activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Good graduating grade
  • Must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
  • Must reside within Ajah Axis on the island, Lagos
  • No prior experience required (entry-level)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Basic knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being trained
