## Title: Tax Preparer / Specialist

Job Summary

The Tax Preparer / Specialist will prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses. This role requires a strong understanding of tax laws, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review individual, corporate, and business tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Analyze financial statements, tax documents, and supporting data to determine appropriate deductions, credits, and liabilities
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure proper documentation for audits
  • Research tax issues and provide guidance on complex tax situations
  • Communicate with clients regarding tax documents, filing requirements, and status updates
  • Identify tax planning opportunities to minimize client liabilities
  • Ensure compliance with all tax laws, regulations, and deadlines
  • Collaborate virtually with team members to resolve complex tax issues and optimize workflow

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in tax preparation or tax advisory services
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws
  • Proficiency with tax software (e.g., TurboTax, Drake, Lacerte) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience handling complex corporate or business tax filings
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for remote client interaction
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a virtual setting
  • Familiarity with virtual collaboration tools and secure document management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tax certifications (e.g., CPA, Enrolled Agent)
