Tax Accountant at Petrogap Oil and Gas Limited

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join our dynamic and expanding team. In this role, you will ensure full compliance with tax regulations while optimizing tax processes and driving efficiency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, etc.)
• Ensure full compliance with tax laws and stay updated on regulatory changes
• Liaise with tax authorities and manage tax audits, reconciliations, and investigations
• Maintain accurate tax records and documentation
• Advise management on tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities legally
• Support financial reporting with accurate tax entries and analysis

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum of a 2:2 Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• 2–3 years' experience as a Tax and Audit Accountant (preferably in the oil servicing industry)
• Professional certification: ICAN or ACCA is required
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and processes (FIRS/LIRS)
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP, QuickBooks)
• Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills
