Studio Engineer Assistant at Clout Africa

About the Role

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Studio Engineer Assistant. In this role, you will work alongside experienced studio engineers to support all aspects of recording sessions, from pre-production setup through to post-session maintenance.

Main Responsibilities

• Consult with producers and performers before recording begins to understand their needs and requirements
• Set up the studio environment to meet client specifications
• Prepare for live recording sessions by placing microphones and other recording equipment
• Assist with computer programming of studio equipment
• Support the studio engineer in obtaining clean, balanced recordings of all audio tracks during sessions
• Help ensure all equipment is functioning properly before client arrival to prevent downtime and substandard recordings
• Assist clients in setting up their equipment in the studio for recording
• Provide support during the creative process, including assisting with feedback and technical adjustments as directed by senior engineers
• Assist with equipment maintenance and record-keeping of gear used in specific recordings
• Help set up and take down special equipment for sessions
• Report equipment problems such as broken components or defective electronic circuitry
• Support equipment repair efforts, either assisting with repairs or following up with technicians

Key Skills and Requirements
