Storekeeper (Construction) at Jamub Group

Job Summary

The Storekeeper is responsible for managing, receiving, recording, issuing, and safeguarding all materials, tools, and equipment used on construction sites. The role ensures that materials are available for project use when needed, properly documented, and that losses, wastage, or theft are minimized.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive all construction materials and verify quantities and specifications against delivery notes and purchase orders
• Inspect materials for damage or non-conformance and report discrepancies to the Procurement or Site Engineer
• Label, store, and arrange materials properly to prevent deterioration or mix-ups
• Maintain accurate stock records, including daily material receipts, issues, and balances
• Prepare and submit periodic material stock reports to the Project or Procurement Department
• Issue construction materials to site teams based on approved material requisition forms
• Maintain a register or log of materials issued, returned, or transferred to other sites
• Ensure that all receipts and issues are properly documented and signed by authorized personnel
• Keep records updated both manually and electronically as applicable
• Conduct regular physical stock checks and reconcile with inventory records
• Identify slow-moving, excess, or obsolete items and report to management for action
• Monitor material consumption patterns to help prevent wastage and overstocking
• Enforce proper inventory control procedures to ensure accountability
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe store area at all times
• Ensure that hazardous materials (chemicals, fuel) are properly labeled and stored
• Comply with site safety, health, and environmental regulations
• Liaise with Procurement and Site Engineers for timely replenishment of materials
• Support logistics operations as required
