## Title: Store Officer - Medical Inventory Management

About the Role

We are seeking a Store Officer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for the systematic and compliant management of all hospital inventory, with a focus on sterile and time-sensitive medical supplies.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Inventory Control

  • Oversee the storage and organization of specialized stock, including surgical kits, implants, pharmaceuticals (non-controlled), laboratory reagents, and general medical consumables
  • Ensure strict compliance with all manufacturer and regulatory requirements for storage, including temperature and humidity control, shelf-life monitoring, and maintaining sterile stock integrity

Receiving and Inspection

  • Process and verify incoming deliveries of hospital goods against purchase orders, ensuring accuracy of quantities and specifications
  • Conduct thorough inspection of all medical supplies for damage, expiration dates, and proper packaging, especially for sterile items
  • Accurately record receipts using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

Issuance and Distribution

  • Process authorized requisitions from surgical theaters, emergency rooms, wards, and other departments
  • Issue stock using the First-Expiry, First-Out (FEFO) principle to minimize waste due to expiration
  • Ensure all issues are properly documented and tracked to departmental cost centers

Auditing and Compliance

  • Conduct regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories for reconciliation
  • Investigate and report all inventory discrepancies, recommending measures to improve accuracy and control
  • Ensure store operations adhere strictly to hospital policies, quality standards, and relevant healthcare regulatory guidelines

Security and Safety

  • Maintain the security of the store's area by controlling access and ensuring safe handling and storage of hazardous or sensitive materials according to OSHA standards

Qualifications

  • B.Sc Degree or ND in Supply Chain Management
