About the Role
A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent. As a Sous Chef, you will be a key professional responsible for ensuring seamless kitchen operations. From ordering ingredients to maintaining accurate inventory and upholding rigorous cleanliness standards, you will provide the Head Chef with everything needed to create exceptional dishes for our guests.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and design of all food and beverage menus
- Produce high-quality plates with excellence in both design and taste
- Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and meets quality standards
- Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
- Resourcefully solve problems and take control of challenging situations
- Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedules, and assess performance
- Order supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and guests
Required Experience
5–7 years of experience in a similar position within a 3- or 4-star hotel or serviced apartments.
Education & Training
BSc degree in culinary science or a related professional certificate is preferred.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Excellent kitchen and staff management capabilities
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
- Familiarity with industry best practices
- Working knowledge of computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS systems)
- Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets
- Guest-oriented and service-minded approach
- Strong interpersonal skills
