Solar Installation Officer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Installation Officer to join our team at BlueWave New Energy Technology Nigeria Company Limited. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in the renewable energy sector and will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, and maintain photovoltaic (PV) systems in accordance with codes and standards
• Interpret and implement solar system designs and schematics
• Conduct on-site assessments to determine system requirements and installation feasibility
• Coordinate with project engineers, electricians, and contractors to ensure timely and accurate installations
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on PV systems as needed
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Maintain accurate records of installations, materials used, and service activities
• Provide client support and education on system operations and maintenance

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in solar PV installation or a related renewable energy field
• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Proven understanding of solar PV system components, wiring, and safety standards (e.g., NEC, IEC)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics
• Familiarity with tools, equipment, and testing instruments used in solar installations
• Experience with hybrid systems, battery storage, or solar water heating systems
• Good physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications (e.g., NABCEP, PV Installation Professional)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
