SME Loan Officer at Boctrust Microfinance Bank

About the Role

Boctrust Microfinance Bank seeks a dedicated SME Loan Officer to drive business growth and manage loan portfolios in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing new SME business relationships, assessing loan applications, and ensuring portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively source and develop new SME loan business relationships
• Conduct market research and identify potential SME clients within the assigned territory
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential SME clients
• Analyse loan applications and assess creditworthiness of SME borrowers
• Prepare loan recommendations based on comprehensive financial analysis
• Conduct thorough financial and business viability assessments of SME businesses
• Prepare comprehensive loan documentation, including credit memos and loan agreements
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor the progress of SME businesses
• Monitor loan performance and ensure timely loan repayments
• Identify and mitigate potential loan risks
• Manage loan portfolios effectively to minimise delinquency and maximise returns
• Ensure compliance with all relevant loan policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience as an SME Loan Officer in the microfinance industry

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong understanding of credit risk assessment principles and methodologies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
