## Title: Settlement and Reconciliation Officer
About the Role
Fort Knox Group is expanding its dynamic team and seeking a skilled Settlement and Reconciliation Officer to join our Lagos office. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial transactions and reconciliation processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process daily settlement of transactions with banks, payment processors, and third-party partners
- Ensure timely posting of settled transactions into the accounting system
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks, unmatched items, and variances
- Prepare reconciliation reports and escalate unresolved discrepancies promptly
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Assist internal and external auditors with required documentation
- Recommend and support automation and process improvement initiatives
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and contribute to continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2–5 years' experience in settlement, reconciliation, finance operations, or banking
- Strong understanding of payment systems, bank reconciliations, and financial controls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with accounting or core banking systems
