An established company is recruiting for the following position. Job Description
  • We are establishing a fully equipped mechanical fabrication workshop in Kaduna, Nigeria.
  • Our facility includes CNC cutting machines, hydraulic press machines, plate rolling machines (four-roll), bending machines, guillotine/shearing machines, welding machines, and all tools required for metal fabrication and maintenance operations.
  • We are looking for an experienced Senior Workshop Technician / Workshop Foreman who can operate these machines, supervise fabrication activities, and support LPG tank production and maintenance operations.
  • The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in metal cutting, bending, forming, and welding processes, and able to work independently based on technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC cutting machines for precision cutting of steel plates.
  • Perform plate rolling, bending, shearing, and forming using workshop machinery.
  • Execute fabrication tasks for LPG tank manufacturing and general mechanical production.
  • Interpret and work accurately from technical drawings and fabrication plans.
  • Carry out welding operations (MIG/TIG/Arc) as required for tank fabrication and repair.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and safe use of workshop equipment.
  • Supervise and guide junior technicians and support staff when needed.
  • Maintain production quality, safety standards, and efficient workflow.
  • Conduct repair, modification, and maintenance tasks for steel tanks and mechanical components
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in mechanical fabrication workshops.
  • Strong ability to operate:
  • CNC cutting machines
  • Hydraulic press brake
  • Plate rolling machines (four-roll)
  • Guillotine/shearing machines
  • Bending and forming equipment
  • Welding machines
  • Proven experience in LPG tank fabrication, pressure vessel work, or similar heavy steel manufacturing (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication sketches.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, metal thicknesses, and material handling.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of workshop safety standards and best practices.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork attitude.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Experience working in an industrial fabrication workshop environment.
