Senior Quantity Surveyor at Matosi Nigeria Limited

Role Summary

Own the commercial engine across pre- and post-contract phases for multi-discipline civil/MEP/fabrication projects. Lead bid costing, contractual compliance, and change/claims through to final account, working tightly with Project Engineering and the HSE Lead (MISPN).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead tender and commercial compliance: BoQ production and validation, pricing, clarifications, and compliance matrices
• Build price build-ups and cash-flow; develop CTRs, resource histograms, and programme-linked cost plans
• Drive Nigerian public-sector bid compliance (BPP/NCDMB schedules, tax/withholding/VAT, bonds/guarantees, PC/Provisional Sums)
• Administer contracts (FIDIC/NEC or client forms); manage remeasurement, valuations, retention, and payment applications
• Lead variations and claims (EOT, disruption, acceleration): evidence packs, contemporaneous records, and negotiation
• Maintain change registers; issue cost reports, EV curves, and monthly commercial dashboards to management
• Travel to site locations nationwide as required
• Build and maintain a market-rate database (materials, labour, equipment)
• Partner with HSE Lead (MISPN) to cost RAMS/HSE controls and integrate into workpacks
• Support procurement: vendor RFQs, bid tabulations, negotiation, and subcontractor administration

Must-Have Requirements

• BSc/HND in Quantity Surveying (QS) or equivalent qualification
• Registered Quantity Surveyor (RQS) – QSRBN (preferred, or commitment to obtain within 6 months of start)
• 8–10+ years of QS leadership on civil/oil-field/EPC projects in Nigeria (pre- and post-contract phases)
• Demonstrable strength in BoQ, measurement, valuations, VOs/EOTs, and final accounts
• Strong commercial law and contract administration knowledge; excellent documentation and negotiation skills
• Advanced Excel proficiency (indexing, lookups, pivot models)
• CostX or equivalent quantity surveying software
• MS Project experience
• AutoCAD familiarity
