Main Functions

Control project costs through planning, development, reporting, and monitoring of milestone progress. Forecast project budgets and identify cost-saving measures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide timely, accurate, and complete financial and planning information to Project Managers
• Identify currency risks (exchange rate fluctuations) and establish suitable mitigation measures
• Identify tax risks and establish appropriate control measures
• Verify costs with vendors and suppliers, estimate expenditures, and recommend cost-saving measures to the Project Manager
• Control and monitor total project expenditure, including verification and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors
• Ensure all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded in accounting systems
• Maintain close coordination with the Accounts department and Project Management Team (PMT)
• Ensure supporting documentation for Project WBS, Project Milestones, Change Orders, and Variations are generated at the point of execution and properly maintained for invoicing and future PMT use
• Initiate project invoices, collate supporting documentation, and follow up with clients to ensure timely payment
• Review subcontractor invoices and supporting documents for accuracy and process payments according to respective subcontract agreements
• Conduct financial control of projects and review tender information to establish project budgets
• Provide timely and accurate reporting of costs, revenues, and results
• Control project budget against actual and forecast figures, including variance analysis
• Identify and control financial risks, establish financial impact of variations, and control variation orders with variance analysis
• Assist in preparation of the financial chapter of close-out reports
• Ensure maintenance of project financial documentation and records
