Senior Content Marketing Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional for this opening.   The role - You’ll report to the Head of Growth Marketing and be responsible for turning PressOne into the go-to resource on business calls and customer communication for African businesses. You will: - Own our content strategy and editorial calendar across blogs, reports, guides, and case studies. - Plan and ship SEO-focused content that ranks, converts, and gets referenced (by humans, sites, and LLMs). - Research, write, and edit high-quality long- and short-form content for founders, operators, and enterprise buyers. - Work with Growth to turn every big piece (e.g. a report or guide) into a distribution campaign (email, social, sales enablement, affiliate assets). - Partner on backlink and authority-building efforts using PR-style content, data, and strategic outreach. - Collaborate with Product, CS, Sales, and Design to ship content that’s accurate, useful, and on brand. - Track performance (GSC, GA4, SEO tools) and continuously improve and refresh what we publish. You’ll be successful here if you: - Have 5+ years in content marketing/content strategy, ideally in B2B SaaS, fintech, telecom, or tools used by SMEs. - Can point to specific URLs or campaigns where content directly impacted traffic, leads, or revenue. - Are strong at SEO fundamentals (intent, clustering, cannibalization, on-page optimization) without being obsessed with hacks. - Write clearly, simply, and persuasively — and can adapt tone for solo founders, operators, and decision-makers. - Are comfortable with data and experiments (checking dashboards, spotting issues, proposing tests). - Are organized, reliable, and happy to own projects from brief → draft → publish → iterate. Nice to have: - Experience with African markets. - Turning internal data into reports, playbooks, or PR-worthy pieces. - Familiarity with tools like GA4, GSC, Ahrefs/SEMrush, and WordPress.
