About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and talented Senior Android Software Engineer to join our team in Lagos. You will design, build, and maintain our mobile application product, aligned with our product roadmap to deliver significant outcomes for our customers. You'll have the opportunity to develop a super app with features for millions of users.
As a Senior Android Software Engineer, you will contribute to the entire Software Development Life Cycle in a fast-paced agile environment with a high focus on scalable design. You will see how your apps perform in production, understand the value they deliver, and take action to continuously improve them.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of self-managed, cross-functional agile teams
- Ship new features for mobile apps using Kotlin
- Implement complex systems and evolve application architecture based on reactive paradigms and functional programming concepts
- Triage bugs and exceptions reported in production
- Take ownership and drive impact on the product
- Engage in knowledge-sharing within your team and across the organization
- Use and contribute to code quality standards and practices
- Manage and contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines
- Develop POCs and MVPs
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience working on Android-based projects
- Experience with modern engineering practices such as clean code, TDD, and refactoring
- Thorough experience with the Android Open Source Platform and Material Design principles
- Advanced experience with Kotlin
- Experience with Reactive programming (RxJava, RxAndroid, RxKotlin)
- Ability to build software with a focus on testability using Test/Behavior Driven Development (unit tests, integration tests)
- Enthusiasm and passion for working in a team and solving problems independently
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of testing frameworks such as Spoon, Espresso, and Mockito
