Senior Accountant

We are looking for a qualified candidate to fill this position. Position Overview: - We are seeking detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountants to manage day-to-day financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support management in decision-making. - The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting, with 5 to 10 years on Job. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with accounting standards. - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. - Handle accounts payable and receivable; process vendor invoices and staff claims. - Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly. - Monitor inventory, costing, and fixed assets for accuracy (especially in manufacturing and construction). - Prepare and file statutory returns (VAT, WHT, PAYE, Pension, etc.) in compliance with Nigerian tax laws. - Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support management decisions. - Support both internal and external audits by providing required schedules and explanations. - Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance. - Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned by management. Requirements: - B.Sc. or HND in Accounting from a reputable institution. - 5 - 7 years of relevant hands-on accounting experience. - Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and statutory deductions. - Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems). - High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Must reside on Lagos Island or environs. - Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or in view) is an added advantage. - Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables dashboards financial models) - Strong proficiency in accounting software (Sage QuickBooks).
