Senior Account Officer at ADDAS Ultimate Limited

About the Role

ADDAS Ultimate Limited is recruiting a Senior Account Officer to join our finance team in Lagos, Nigeria. This role offers the opportunity to manage key accounting functions and contribute to the organization's financial success.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting

• Prepare, review, and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal adjustments
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP)
• Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, and intercompany balances

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Oversee invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor account reconciliations
• Monitor accounts receivable collections, aging reports, and customer account reconciliations
• Ensure proper authorization and documentation for all payments and receipts

Budgeting & Reporting

• Support preparation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, and variance reports
• Provide management with accurate financial data and insights for decision-making
• Assist in monitoring departmental spending against approved budgets

Taxation & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all statutory tax requirements (VAT, withholding tax, corporate tax, etc.)
• Assist in preparing and submitting tax returns and supporting documentation
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary schedules and explanations

Systems & Process Improvement

• Maintain and update the accounting system (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
• Contribute to the implementation of financial policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–5 years of accounting experience
