## Title: Security Assistant - Office of the Auditor General
Role Overview
Under the supervision of the Administrative Officer, the Security Assistant will be available for emergency callouts 24/7. This role encompasses supervising external security personnel deployed to the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) and providing support across all security-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and assist in implementing the security plan, including evacuation drills and emergency procedures to ensure Standard Operating Procedures are followed during various incidents
- Monitor the status and compliance of Minimum Operational Security Standards (MOSS) and Minimum Operating Residential Security Standards (MORSS)
- Liaise with the Head of Security at ECOWAS Commission to monitor and assess the security situation within the duty station and provide recommendations as appropriate
- Support training courses on security issues, awareness, and preparedness
- Implement decisions agreed upon at security management meetings
- Supervise private security guards attached to the OAG and assist in the management of the security company when required
- Coordinate armed backup and escort duties for the Head of Institution and staff members, including travel security advisory
- Maintain all security records and documentation
- Conduct basic security investigations and provide appropriate recommendations
- Recommend appropriate security equipment for OAG use and contribute to budgeting
- Liaise with other security agencies within the duty station and host country
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Brevet de Technicien Superieur (BTS)/Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or equivalent in social sciences (such as Public Administration, Business Administration, Sociology, etc.) from a recognized tertiary institution
- Training in security management and security studies is an added advantage
