Resident Nurse (Male Hostel)

This position offers a great opportunity for career growth. ​​​​​​​Key Responsibilities - Providing basic healthcare and first aid to students and staff for injuries or acute illnesses. - Developing and managing individual care plans for students with ongoing or chronic health conditions. - Administering medication according to prescribed protocols. - Detecting health problems in the early stages through regular screenings and follow-up care. - Updating and maintaining comprehensive student medical histories. -  Ensuring proper documentation of all evaluation and screening findings. - Reporting findings and recommending necessary treatment to the Vice Principal Student Affairs/Mission Nurse. -  Ensuring the school/hostel environment is clean, safe, and conducive to health (e.g., prevention of communicable diseases). -  Ensuring compliance with national and local health laws and following established procedures for the disposal of medical waste. - Accompanying students to the hospital when necessary and ensuring they receive proper care and treatment. - Maintaining strict confidentiality during all medical and counselling sessions. - Displaying the highest ethical and professional behaviour and standards when working with all stakeholders (students, parents, school personnel, and external agencies). Required Qualifications: and Requirements - Registered Nurse (RN) certification/license valid in Nigeria. - 20 years of experience in providing pediatric, community, or school health services is highly advantageous. - Strong understanding of public health principles and communicable disease prevention. - Excellent clinical assessment, organisational, and documentation skills. - Ability to act calmly and effectively in emergencies. - Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice and maintaining confidentiality. - A compassionate and caring disposition, with the ability to build rapport with students and parents.
