Research & Development (R&D) Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Research & Development Manager to lead the planning, development, and execution of innovative projects that improve vehicle design, performance, safety, and efficiency. You will oversee research initiatives, manage development teams, and ensure compliance with automotive industry standards while driving innovation to maintain a competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate R&D projects from concept to final product implementation
• Supervise the design, testing, and validation of automotive systems and components
• Identify and integrate new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Collaborate with production, quality control, and technical teams to align R&D output with business objectives
• Oversee prototype development and ensure proper performance evaluation
• Monitor industry trends and competitor innovations to guide R&D strategies
• Prepare and present progress reports and technical documentation to senior management
• Manage R&D budgets, timelines, and resources effectively
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, IATF 16949)
• Mentor and develop R&D team members to enhance technical expertise

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Minimum 5–8 years of automotive R&D experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
• Professional certifications in R&D, Automotive Technology, or Project Management (advantageous)

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and simulation tools
• Excellent leadership, project management, and organizational skills
• Innovative mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
