This position offers a great opportunity for career growth. Role summary - The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University. The Registrar is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for day-to-day administration of the affairs of the University (other than financial matters). The Registrar also serves as Secretary to the Governing Council, Senate, and Convocation. Eligibility and requirements A candidate for Registrar must have: - A good honours degree (minimum Second Class Lower) from a recognised University - At least fifteen (15) years of relevant post-qualification experience - Higher degree(s), professional qualifications, and membership of professional bodies are listed as added advantages. The candidate is also expected to: - Not be below the rank of Deputy Registrar; and must have spent at least three (3) years on that post in a recognised university - Not be more than sixty (60) years of age at the time of assumption of duty - Show evidence of strong management and leadership drive from previous positions; and have solid communication and interpersonal skills - Show the ability to lead a team by example, with clear mentorship skills and plans - Have personal integrity; show transparency in private and public life; and command respect and loyalty across the University community - Be computer-literate (yes, that part matters) - Have good working knowledge of present-day administrative principles, processes, and practices - Be in excellent physical and mental health
