Job description
## Title: Radio Transmission Engineer
Job Purpose
The Radio Transmission Engineer is responsible for planning, installing, maintaining, and optimizing radio transmission networks to ensure seamless connectivity and service quality for our clients. This role ensures high availability of the radio network, supports fault resolution, and contributes to service expansion and performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Network Planning & Implementation
- Plan, design, and execute radio transmission links (microwave, point-to-point, and point-to-multipoint)
- Conduct site surveys for new installations and prepare technical reports
- Install, configure, and integrate radio transmission equipment and accessories
Operations & Maintenance
- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on transmission equipment
- Monitor link performance and ensure minimal downtime
- Troubleshoot and resolve transmission faults within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Optimization & Quality Assurance
- Ensure optimal capacity, coverage, and quality of radio links
- Carry out performance monitoring and link budget analysis
- Recommend and implement system upgrades for efficiency and scalability
Technical Support & Documentation
- Provide technical support to the Service Management team and customers when required
- Maintain updated documentation of transmission links, equipment inventory, and maintenance logs
- Assist in preparing network reports and performance statistics for management
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, procedures, and health & safety policies
- Adhere to industry regulations and guidelines during installation and maintenance
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Radio Transmission Engineer or equivalent role
