## Title: Quantity Surveyor
About the Role
We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Quantity Surveyor at Omar Gardens Floral Company, based in Lagos, Nigeria.
Cost Planning & Estimation
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender documents specific to landscaping works including softscape, hardscape, and irrigation
- Provide early-stage cost advice and feasibility studies for prospective projects in collaboration with the Sales department
Budget Management & Control
- Track project costs, expenditures, and cash flow against budgets to ensure profitability
- Monitor material usage, labor productivity, and subcontractor performance to prevent overruns
- Recommend value engineering solutions to optimize costs without compromising design quality
Contract & Procurement Administration
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for competitiveness, compliance, and technical accuracy
- Assist in contract drafting, negotiation, administration, and claims management
- Support procurement planning by forecasting material and labor requirements in line with project schedules
Project Monitoring & Reporting
- Conduct regular site visits to verify progress, assess variations, and ensure adherence to financial controls
- Provide timely cost reports, financial updates, and risk assessments to the Project Manager and senior management
- Maintain proper documentation and records of all project cost data for auditing and future reference
Risk & Variation Management
- Identify potential cost and scope risks early and propose mitigation strategies
- Manage variation orders and ensure proper valuation and approvals in line with contractual obligations
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field
- Professional membership (e.g., NIQS) is an advantage
- Proven experience in quantity surveying, preferably within landscaping, construction, or civil works
- Strong knowledge of landscaping materials, site works, and irrigation
